Rajiv youth foundation is a voluntary organization very much active in Malappuram district with Manjeri as it’s headquarters since 19th November 1997. Over these years, the organization has earned laurels and has established them as an outstanding organization committed to serve the community and we are proud of that. The organization was registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. This organization with its ongoing and structural performance has got 2376 active members spread over 10 districts in Kerala.
The organization is engaged in the promotion of democratic and secular values, nurture a sense of nationality and equality among the people, organize service oriented humanitarian activities, to devise and implement measures for the welfare of village folk, to promote cultural, educational, scientific and employment oriented awareness and explore opportunities for securing the same to the people, chalking out ways and means for the prosperity of the lower and middle class through the concepts of interdependency and self help by organizing self help group and propagating micro financing operations etc The organization is ever committed to the fulfilment of its objectives which include among others the promotion of social, scientific and economic awareness and empowerment and its members are always ready to sacrifice themselves for its attainment.
This organization adopted the name Rajiv Youth Foundation to commemorate the noble memories of “Bharath Ratna” Late Sri. Rajiv Gandhi who had worked hard to lead over country to the 21st century and who had shared his vision and dreams about this country to us. The organisation very proudly remembers that Sri. Rajiv Gandhi was very much successful in endearing the noble principles of “Grama Swaraj” propounded by Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation, and had strived to success in his attempt. The words of Rajiv Gandhi that “youth is the armament of the nation” have imbibed in us the spirit to organise youth who suffer due to various difficulties and to formulate a joint platform of voluntary young persons to fight against all odds.
Over these years, the organisation has undertook so many humanitarian and service oriented activities for the poor and the downtrodden. Through the programme “Vision Our Mission”, a project on eye care, the organisation was able to secure treatment for over 3000 patients and was successful in conducting 8 eye surgery camps where 307 patients were operated for various eye diseases. The organisation was able to seek the valuable co-operation and service of the expert doctors of Aravind Hospital Coimbathore branch, and Malabar eye hospital, Kozhikode, and are thankful to them.
